    Mix all ingredients for the waffles in a bowl.

    Knead dough until smooth.

    Divide into 9-12 balls.

    Set balls aside for 5-6 hours if using starter, or 1 hour if using dry yeast.

    Prepare stroop filling 20 minutes before cooking dough.

    Add all ingredients for stroop filling to a sauce pan and heat until butter and sugar are melted.

    Let stroop filling cool down to room temperature.

    Heat krumkake iron and add a ball of dough, cook until golden brown.

    Quickly cut each waffle in half while still warm, add filling, and squish together.
