Preparation Steps
Step 1/11
Wash and soak toor dal, masoor dal, and moong dal for 30 minutes.
Step 2/11
Transfer the soaked dal to a pressure cooker. Add water, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix them and cook for 2 whistles on a medium flame. Keep aside.
Step 3/11
Wash and chop spinach leaves. Keep aside.
Step 4/11
Heat oil in a pot. Add cumin seeds and dried red chillies. Let them sizzle.
Step 5/11
Add chopped garlic and ginger. Sauté until the raw smell goes away.
Step 6/11
Add chopped onions and green chillies. Sauté until the onions become soft and light golden.
Step 7/11
Add chopped tomatoes, salt, and turmeric powder. Sauté until the tomatoes turn soft and mushy.
Step 8/11
Add red chilli powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Mix well and sauté for two minutes.
Step 9/11
Add chopped spinach leaves and mix everything well. Sauté for 4-5 minutes.
Step 10/11
Add cooked dal and mix everything. Pour water as needed and mix. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 11/11
Add desi ghee and some chopped cilantro. Mix well.
