Preparation Steps

Rinse 2 cups brown rice under cold water until the water runs mostly clear.

Peel 1 sweet potato and cut it into approximately 1/2-inch pieces.

Chop 2 large carrots into small, bite-size pieces suitable for a dog.
Step 4/13
Add the rinsed brown rice, 4 cups water, sweet potato, and carrots to a large pot.

Cover the pot and bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.
Step 6/13
Reduce the heat to low and simmer the covered mixture for 15 minutes.

Place 4 whole eggs in their shells on top of the rice mixture.

Cover the pot again and cook over low heat for another 15 minutes.

Remove the eggs from the pot and place them in a bowl of ice water for a few minutes.

Peel the cooled eggs and chop them into small pieces.

Stir the chopped eggs and 1 cup chopped cooked ham into the rice mixture.

Cook the mixture over low heat for about 5 minutes, stirring until the ham is heated through.

Cool the dog food completely before serving or storing it in portions.
