Preparation Steps
Step 1/8
Line a tray with plastic wrap and place 8 teaspoon-sized portions of Nutella hazelnut cocoa spread on it. Freeze until firm, about 15 minutes.
Step 2/8
Whisk 120 g glutinous rice flour, 100 g granulated sugar, and 0.5 g salt in a microwave-safe bowl. Gradually whisk in 240 ml water until smooth.
Step 3/8
Cover the bowl loosely with plastic wrap and microwave the dough on high for 2 minutes. Stir the dough thoroughly with a spatula.
Step 4/8
Microwave the dough for 1 more minute on high. Stir until the mixture becomes glossy, thick, and translucent.
Step 5/8
Allow the mochi dough to cool for 5 minutes until safe to handle. Divide it into 8 equal portions on a clean work surface.
Step 6/8
Flatten one dough portion into a disc. Place one frozen portion of Nutella hazelnut cocoa spread in the center.
Step 7/8
Pull the dough edges around the filling and pinch them closed. Place the sealed mochi seam-side down on the lined tray.
Step 8/8
Repeat the filling and sealing process with the remaining dough and Nutella hazelnut cocoa spread. Serve at room temperature.
