Add 3 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast to a large mixing bowl.

Stir the dry ingredients with a wooden spoon until the salt and yeast are evenly distributed.

Pour 1 3/4 cups warm water into the flour mixture.

Stir until a sticky, tacky dough forms and no dry flour remains; do not knead.

Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel.
