Preparation Steps
Step 1/12
Preheat the oven to 180°C / 350°F and prepare a cake pan by greasing it lightly.
Step 2/12
Melt the 180 g unsalted butter in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 3/12
Continue heating until the milk solids turn golden brown and the butter smells nutty, then remove it from the heat.
Step 4/12
Strain the browned butter through a fine-mesh strainer to remove toasted particles, then let the clarified brown butter cool until warm.
Step 5/12
Whisk the 200 g granulated sugar with the warm brown butter until evenly combined.
Step 6/12
Add the 3 large eggs and whisk until the batter is smooth and slightly thickened.
Step 7/12
Add the 200 g cake flour, 1 tsp baking powder, and pinch of salt to the bowl.
Step 8/12
Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture just until no dry flour remains.
Step 9/12
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and level the surface.
Step 10/12
Scatter approximately 125 g blueberries evenly over the batter, gently pressing them slightly into the surface.
Step 11/12
Bake at 180°C / 350°F for about 40 minutes, until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
Step 12/12
Cool the cake in its pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack before slicing.
