Preparation Steps

Pat the firm tofu dry thoroughly with paper towels.

Cut the firm tofu into thick, even slices on a cutting board.

Heat the neutral cooking oil in a wide pan over medium heat.
Step 4/9
Fry the tofu slices for about 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown.

Finely chop the 3 cloves of garlic and the 2 spring onions.

Combine the garlic, spring onion, chili flakes, sesame oil, soy sauce, water, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
Step 7/9
Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the fried tofu in the pan.
Step 8/9
Simmer the tofu in the sauce for 5 to 10 minutes until the sauce reduces slightly.
Step 9/9
Serve the Dubu Jorim hot, ideally alongside steamed rice.
