Preparation Steps
Step 1/10
Finely chop the onion and mince the garlic clove.
Step 2/10
Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in the frying pan over medium heat. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic for 3 minutes until softened.
Step 3/10
Add the 250 g ground beef to the pan. Break it apart and cook for 6 to 8 minutes until browned and fully cooked.
Step 4/10
Season the beef with salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and ground cumin. Stir for 1 minute, then keep warm off the heat.
Step 5/10
Peel the 2 green plantains and cut them into thick fry-shaped batons. Rinse the plantain pieces with lemon juice, white vinegar, and salt.
Step 6/10
Heat the remaining vegetable oil in the deep pot to 175°C / 350°F. Fry the plantain pieces for 5 to 6 minutes until lightly golden.
Step 7/10
Remove the fried plantains and drain them on paper towel. Flatten each piece slightly with the bottom of a bowl or a fork.
Step 8/10
Fry the flattened plantains again for 3 to 4 minutes until crisp and golden. Drain them and season with salt for plantains.
Step 9/10
Mash the avocado in a mixing bowl. Stir in the 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, smoked paprika, black pepper, and honey until creamy.
Step 10/10
Arrange the crispy plantain fries on plates. Top with the spiced ground beef and serve the avocado mayonnaise alongside.
