Rinse 50 g dried hibiscus flowers thoroughly under cold water to remove any dust.

Place the rinsed hibiscus flowers and 1.5 L cold water in a large pot.

Add 3 whole cloves to the pot.
Step 4/11
Bring the hibiscus mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat.

Simmer the mixture for at least 10 minutes.

Add 5 g fresh mint to the hot infusion.

Cover the pot and steep the infusion for 30 minutes off the heat.

Strain the infusion into a pitcher, discarding the hibiscus flowers, cloves, and mint.

Add 100 g granulated sugar and 8 g vanilla sugar to the strained drink.

Add 10 mL orange blossom water and stir until the sugars dissolve.

Refrigerate the bissap until thoroughly chilled before serving.
