Preparation Steps
Step 1/9
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease or line one 8 x 4 inch loaf pan.
Step 2/9
Whisk 150 g caster sugar with 100 g melted butter until combined. Whisk in 70 g yogurt.
Step 3/9
Combine 120 ml milk with 60 ml water in a measuring jug. Set the liquid mixture aside.
Step 4/9
Fold 180 g all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp baking soda into the butter mixture. Alternate additions with the milk-water mixture until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
Step 5/9
Divide the plain batter evenly between two mixing bowls. Keep one half plain.
Step 6/9
Add 1 tbsp cocoa powder and 2 to 3 drops red gel food coloring to the second batter half. Fold until evenly red and chocolate-colored.
Step 7/9
Pour the plain and red batters alternately into the prepared loaf pan. Lightly swirl the batters with a skewer to create a marble pattern.
Step 8/9
Bake the loaf for 40 to 45 minutes at 180°C (350°F). Test the center with a skewer; it is done when the skewer comes out clean.
Step 9/9
Cool the loaf in the pan before removing it. Slice into 8 portions to serve.
